Greetings of Peace Ladies!

This is the sixth video in the Video Series of excerpt readings from my book “37 Lessons on How to Gain from Loss: A Believer’s Journey from Trial to Triumph” which is a personal transformation journey of a daughter/caregiver who lost her mother to cancer and how she took her trial as the turning point of her life to transform it into triumph.

HOW TO ADJUST YOUR FOCUS RIGHT DURING PERSONAL LOSS 

Today, we will talk about how and where to focus during and/or after the event of experiencing a personal loss. We will talk about why you cannot receive answers to your questions and solutions to your problems.

How does the process of asking and receiving occur? How are you wasting your energy and how can you use the same energy you are wasting to get powerful, intentional results?

What is it that you are doing wrong? How are you coming in your own way and not accomplishing the results you want? How can you fine-tune your focus to point in the right direction of achieving the results you are looking for?

We will talk about all this and lastly, we will do a short exercise that is written below.

►►► Action Steps to Do ►►►

►►► Think of a problem/challenge in your current life. What is the focus of your thoughts relative to it? On the problem or on the solution? For example, your problem is that you are over-weight and therefore, you want to lose weight.

►►► Pay attention to what you are thinking all-day with regards to this problem, what are you saying to yourself and creating for yourself?

►►► Are you thinking/saying, I can’t lose weight. I will never lose weight. It is so hard to lose weight. I can never have a fit, lean and healthy body. I am born with bad genes. If you are having similar self-talk, what is the focus of your thoughts and what are you creating as a result? Will you find and achieve a solution as a result of repeating such thoughts to yourself?

►►► What do you need to think instead? What will be some solution-focused thoughts? How can you replace the above problem-focused thoughts by solution-focused ones? For instance, What one tiny thing I can do today that will lead me towards my goal? How can I lose weight? What diet adjustments I can make today to achieve my desired results? How can I remain persistent with my new habit? What type of support I need to attain my goal? Who can assist or collaborate with me in this goal? What skills and support I already have that I can use during this goal achievement process?
